Making my 1950s headband;

 Here was the inspiration for my headband to begin with;

I began by taking an old long sleeve t shirt that no longer fit and decided to repurpose the material for the headband.

The shirt was the shade of pink I needed to match the dress for my 50s look, as well being a solid, stretchy material. 

All I did was cut a sleeve off the shirt, neaten up any rough edges and check that it was long enough to wrap around my head. 

I then tied a knot on the headband once I knew it would fit, and there is my diy element of the 50s look completed!
